The app

What stays on your iPhone

Recordings and transcripts stay on the iPhone. Speech recognition, speaker separation, and Hebrew repair run on the phone. Lektu does not collect audio and does not track you. Lektu does not receive a copy of your recordings.

The speech model is downloaded once over Wi-Fi, about 452 MB, so transcription can run on the phone. After that download, transcription does not need a network.

What is sent, and to whom

Summaries are optional. Transcript text is sent to Google Gemini only when you tap Summarize or ask a question. You can skip that. Skipping that sends nothing. Audio is not part of that send.

The app asks you to confirm before the text leaves the phone. The Gemini API key stays in the iPhone Keychain. Google may charge the account that owns the key. That charge is not a Lektu purchase. Lektu Monthly is sold only through Apple In-App Purchase.

Google receives the transcript text only for the summary or question you asked for, and processes it under the terms of the Google account that owns the key. Lektu does not sell that text. Lektu does not advertise with it, and does not track you with it.

You withdraw that consent by skipping Summarize and by deleting the lecture on the iPhone.

What Lektu does not collect

Purchases are handled by Apple. Lektu does not receive your payment card. There is no account in the app. The app does not ask you to sign in, so in-app account deletion does not apply. Lektu does not collect contacts, location, or an advertising identifier, and it does not track you across apps or websites.

How long it is kept, and how to delete it

Lectures stay on the iPhone until you delete them. Deleting a lecture in Lektu removes that recording and its transcript from the phone. Lektu has no server copy to delete.

Text you already sent to Google is handled by Google under that account's terms. Lektu cannot delete Google's copy. Skip Summarize when the transcript should remain only on the phone.

Children

Lektu is not directed at children under 13. Do not send a transcript of a child to Google Gemini.

Subscription

Lektu is free to download. Full use is Lektu Monthly, one month, $0.99 per month in the US. The price in your country is on the purchase screen.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel the subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
